7 ways to perfect your practice

While there is no perfect practice, here are 7 ways to perfect your practice:

  1. Pay attention to your breath. Notice when you hold it, when you relax, how deep is your breath and how shallow.
  2. Release stress in your face. Keep your eyes relaxed by softening your gaze, relax your jaw by separating your lips and relax the skin of your forehead
  3. Leave your Ego at the door. Yoga is a personal practice and no matter what the person beside you is doing, focus on yourself and move with intelligence
  4. Have the right attitude. Bring a sense of humour and a willingness to grow and try new things with you.
  5. Find your stability. No matter what posture you are in, connect with the ground, the sky and the core of your being.
  6. Notice your busy mind. It can be hard and sometimes scary to sit and notice how swiftly things flow through our heads. This is an important part of practice, and necessary to begin to learn how to relax and let things go.
  7. Stick with it! The most important part of practice is consistency. If you truly want things to change in your mind, body and breath then you have to be willing to do the work. Every time you step on the mat brings an opportunity to check in with yourself, notice your busy mind, honour your body and deepen your breath

Namaste and See you on the mat
