words from my students

I am forever inspired by these words from my students

“Good morning Jo,

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed last nights’ class.

I arrived feeling so tired, due to lack of sleep (menopause?) and couldn’t wait to start the class. I sit at a desk all day and feel that my hip/thigh area is so tight but the workout we did made me feel so much better – more nimble. I hope my words will inspire someone to seek you and your classes out. I have absolutely no regrets attending your classes. I love them.

Namaste

Thank you,”

“I first saw Jo in the Calgary Herald and signed up on her website to get her emails.  I stayed on this list for well over a year but classes never seemed to work out for me.  I then had a friend say she was taking classes with her and decided to join her in a class….but as luck would have it I had a major back episode so decided I just couldn’t do it.  Jo was so understanding and encouraged me to rejoin a class when I was feeling better, this I did…I have not had a major back episode since which I was having regularly every 6 months.

I have tried quite a few other yoga classes which were just too much for me, there are very few beginner/gentle yoga classes offered at studios.  I also felt very at risk in these classes as they are large and the teacher cannot watch every student to make sure they are doing poses properly.  Jo does watch and I feel very safe, as well as confident I’m not going to hurt myself.  Also in other classes I often felt embarrassed when I couldn’t do the poses but with Jo I just laugh and try anyways.  As well I am very comfortable with the other students that attend itsjustyoga.

I highly recommend trying yoga with Jo, what a wonderful woman, very grateful her path lead her to share her yoga.”

“I particularly enjoyed this morning’s class.  There was such nice energy in the room.  The poses you had us work through were absolutely perfect for me.  I did a slip on the ice a week ago and did the splits.  Now, for the first time since then, my inner thigh does not feel “stretched out”.  I’m so glad to have found you and I’m really enjoying yoga again:-)”

“This has all opened such a new world for me and there is so much to learn. It seems sometimes to be one step forward and two (or four!) steps back. But I feel strongly that I am on the right path. I do so appreciate your wisdom and guidance!”

“I love coming to your yoga classes, I can’t really tell you how much they have changed my life — it seems really dramatic to say so, but it’s very very true. Coming to your class has gotten me through some very tough times, and I appreciate it more than you could ever know!”

“Thank you does not seem to be enough to express my gratitude for the help and encouragement you have given me.  You have given me strength and hope.  Each class lets me know that I can and will improve my rocky relationship with my body.”

“I began coming to Jo’s classes because of a knee injury.  The pain woke me at night and I was prevented from doing many of the activities I enjoy.  An orthopedic surgeon told me that surgery was the only option to alleviate the pain.  That was a year and a half ago.  Just this month, I realized that I had forgotten I even had a bad knee.  The pain and weakness had gradually resolved over the continuous months of yoga practice with Johanna.  I am able to kneel, pick up my grand-daughter and move any way I like.  Thank you, Jo!”

“I am 52 years old and for several months I was experiencing debilitating lower-back pain. I was managing it with pain killers but the pills were by no means satisfactory and I began to think I would never again have the mobility I once enjoyed.

I was taken to Johanna’s class by a friend of mine and was skeptical about the outcome. I was wrong.

After the very first class my mobility had improved to the point where I did not require painkillers for a couple of days. I realized that there was a correlation between the Yoga and my back pain so I began doing daily Yoga at home based on what I was learning with Johanna.

Johanna is incredibly supportive and responsive to everyone’s needs. I cannot say that had I encountered Yoga with anyone but Johanna I would be where I am today. Somehow I doubt it and in more than just the

metaphorical sense I can claim that Johanna really did save my life.”
